Under the scorching heat of the sun, the best way to cool down is to plunge in your self into a cool sparkling body of water.
Heading to beaches or swimming pools are perfect haven to escape from this heat wave that Korea is currently enduring.
And so, to have a relaxing weekend getaway…. we set foot to this famous Ocean World Water Park. This water park is located in Vivaldi Park Resort on the slopes of Palbong Mountain at Hongcheon region of Gangwon-do.
Ocean World is one of the most popular summer destinations in Korea, it is in fact dubbed as the 4th Top Water Park in the world. It has a grandest Egyptian inspired architecture. The entire park features an ancient Egyptian culture with a huge display of symbolic objects of Egypt… from a large sphinx, pharaohs and pyramids that really look so attractive and will make you feel like you are part of Egyptian history.
There are so many attractions that comprise this water park an extreme river with fast flowing current, big wave pool, various slides, jimjilbang or sauna, underground shopping mall and restaurants. Actually divided into these areas: an extreme zone, dynamic zone, indoor zone, mega slide zone and wave pool zone.
Extreme zone: extreme river, family pool and super extreme river.
Dynamic zone: giant waterplex, super boomeranggo and monster blaster slide.
In-door zone: flowing pool, aqua pool, kid’s pool, open-air-bath and pharaoh spa.
Mega slide zone: cairo racing, super S slide, high speed slide and family left slide.
Wave pool zone: surfing mount.
We exceptionally like the wave pool zone, where we enjoy floating to a 3 to 5 feet high wave. It’s just so cool and refreshing.
Do not worry if you don’t know how to swim, swimmers must all wear a life vest… it’s a must for your safety. Everyone can rent it inside the facility for just 6,000won whole day use.
As a foreigner in Korea, I always go for a hassle free getaways… so I opt for planned tours, which are offered by numerous Korean Travel groups… they have an arranged itinerary so you don’t have to spend time taking care of those little details about the trip and they aren’t expensive actually. You just have to go with the flow and enjoy what they offer.
Rather if you are an independent traveler, I have searched this detailed route to Ocean world.
