Themed villages are popular in Korea and it’s actually one of the places that I love to explore. Let’s check out the Provence Village this time.
- This is the view that will welcome you when you reach the entrance of this village.
Located in Paju City, as first started in just a chic French restaurant and now a French Village. I’d been here years ago with a Korean friend and as I remember, this place was just likeable.
However, I so loved the changes on our visit last Sunday. Lots of cute cafes and restaurant had been built.
And more of French like shops and other colorful structures were there to amuse visitors.
Fashion shops and galleries were around the corner. The place is not so big to explore but pretty enough to spend time and no admission fee.
Provence Village is open year round and only took us 30 minutes from Hapjeong Station by bus. And 2 to 3 hours wandering the village.
- Direction: Take subway line 6 or 2 to Hapjeong Station. Head to exit 8, cross the pedestrian and you will see the bus stop. Take bus #2200, a red bus and get off at Seongdong Intersection (성동 사거리) bus stop. Approximately 30mins.
From Seongdong Intersection bus stop it is on the opposite side so you have to cross the street and walk on your right passing the tourist information booth and turn left.
- Turn left to this road right after the tourist information.
- When you see this sign you’re a few meters away from the entrance.
You will reach Provence Village 20minutes on foot. There is a village bus but I am not sure of the intervals.
Hello!
Thank you for sharing this lovely colourful review of Provence Village in Paju. I was only able to finally visit this place for the first time last week Tuesday. Grew up in Canada but teaching ESL in Korea. It was a nice, quaint place to visit and hope to visit again. Cheers and best wishes.
